Hopefully this will fix the issue and I can get some much needed work done!! Thanks for your help, I'll be back at you if this doesn't work. So I guess my only option at this point is to copy all the files from Reader to a different storage device, uninstall Reader then reinstall. But ultimately I still have to get this fixed on my laptop as this is my main computer for work and can't print off my iPad. Is there anyway to get onto the document cloud without having to go into Reader (once again showing my limited knowledge!)? If not, again, not an option. What is the version of the Acrobat Reader DC you are using To check the version go to Help> About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.01.
I did try the updates again, starting with an earlier update but again, when it asked to select which folder to select, Adobe Acrobat was greyed out and not an option so the update failed.
First, I do not have any paid subscriptions, I only have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC so no worries of have multiple subscriptions everywhere! Secondly, when I try your second bullet suggestion(s), I cannot find several of the folders mentioned in the steps that I need to drag & drop onto the desktop, so that option is a bust and it only took me about an hour to read and understand what it wanted me to do and where the files were located! LOL! I am a simple user so some of this technical stuff is a bit difficult for me. To deactivate the Protected View mode, you must open Adobe Acrobat Reader, without loading any PDF to prevent the program from crashing, click on the Edit. OK, obviously I am not as computer savvy as you are! I tried your first two options. An outdated version of Adobe Acrobat can also lead to such a problem. If the problem persists after repairing the software, check for any available updates. You can also apply the latest update manually from here: Īnd yes you can go to the document cloud. To repair Adobe Acrobat, follow these steps: Open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
To completely remove old traces of Adobe software get the repair tool from here:.
